Lushington Entertainments is proud to announce Brett Anderson’s
live dates in Asia.
Following Brett’s huge success with his bands SUEDE
and THE TEARS, he returns to perform his past hits and current self-titled
album as a soloist headliner.
Brett will perform at the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Centre
Hall 3 on the 14th August, 2007.
Brett Lewis Anderson, a singer-songwriter with impeccable credentials,
remains one of music’s heavyweight performers. Having spearheaded
the 1990’s indie scene with Suede’s blueprint for Britpop
and re-established one of the world’s greatest song-writing
partnerships with The Tears, he returns to the fore as an accomplished
and independent new artist.
Written and co-produced by Anderson & Fred Ball, his long-awaited,
self-titled solo debut is infused with a bright, charismatic snap
through 11 melodic, personal songs. A journey into Brett’s
own emotional landscape, it’s carried off with enough skill
to make it a universal experience. “As a soloist, there’s
much more responsibility. The writing process is fundamentally the
same – you get inspired and you write something – but
with early Suede it was Bernard who took care of the music and I
wrote the lyrics & vocal melodies. Now I carry the mantle alone.”
In 2004, following Suede’s disbandment, Anderson and Butler
enjoyed a successful renaissance in The Tears with the critically
acclaimed LP ‘Here Come The Tears’. It was during this
time that Anderson began writing his own solo material as a parallel
endeavour – something that was both personally and professionally
ambitious
Personal, contemplative and passionate, the new album marks a brave
and exciting phase for Anderson and his audience. Tender and melodic,
the album is almost exclusively performed by Brett – musically
and vocally – and is testament to his trademark voice. Combined
with a backdrop of keyboards and lush orchestrations, it’s
the sound of a revived and musically relevant artist.
“This phase in my career isn’t about this one album,
it’s about the next one and the one after that. I love the
sense that I can make the next album sound very different from this
one, which is one thing you can’t do with a band. I’d
like to make the next record with a different group of people and
have a completely different feel for it.”
Hong Kong tickets are priced at HK$650, HK$550
and HK$380 and will go on sale at all HK Ticketing and Tom Lee outlets.
Public sale will be on Monday, 4 June 2007.
Brett Anderson is represented by Love Da Music.
